Are You Safe With The Condition You Have?
I at first when diagnosed with say was alot More worried about them as for my condition and seizures that do happen to me time to time used to be worried with what would be or maybe the outcome of the seizure, I have had a few times I had a couple of them I unfortunately had a couple of concussions and a broken rib, but for the most part don't really say get paranoid or freak out about them when they come to me at times like I used to, what I have a seizure that does do that and it's once in… read more
Yes I'm comfortable and I stay to myself mainly . Because even though I'm alone I'm not I have God and my pets..
I remember getting my first apartment I was terrified but I did it. Countless challenges and adjustments (and problems) but I did it anyway. Everyone’s situation and seizure disorder is different, but just sharing my experience.
No one is entirely safe, but we’re safer today than ever before. There’s a much wider choice of medications with fewer side-effects. Then you include VNS and other treatments that didn’t exist when I was having a ton of seizures every day. But we can never assume we are safe so take all of the precautions possible to increase safety, and prevent tragedy.
Sean 2 some of those injuries you had were from doing something you they recommend you don't do for the risk of injury if having a seizure in the process. They are riding a bike, using objects like climbing ladders, using electric knives, lawn mowers, weed wacker, or other powered objects that can cause injury unless they lose power after release of hand powered function, and more. For falling into water, if it was to go swimming they recommend not to go swimming alone. If it was just walking by a large open body of water I'd recommend to walk a large enough distance from it to prevent the falling in. For falling then reviving on the ground, that is something that can happen to anyone outside. As did happen to me the other day, not from seizure, tripping on something on the sidewalk, nearly falling into a highly busy street, known as Roosevelt blvd. or route 1 highway. Also injury when hit by a car putting me in a coma with bleeding of the brain wasn't caused by seizure outside. It was caused by somebody speeding thru a red light. The seizures I said I had in public were ones outside most of the time alone. I always awoke on the ground and sometimes had a scrape somewhere from fall, in an ambulance, or in a hosp. I was always upset when I awoke in ambulance or hosp since ambulances couldn't just let me out, they had to take me to hosp. Then when at hosp. signing papers to let me go then have to either take a bus home or to get to where I was going. Or I called a cab, Uber, or someone to come pick me up. Then receive a bill from hosp. next week. The one injury I had was from a seizure I had in my house. I collapsed from a seizure that fractured my finger. From me ignoring the pain thinking it was a bad sprain, for about a week. When I went to see my doc. about it he told me it was broke and needed reconstructive surgery. If I didn't ignore pain it would have been just slight fracture to take care of.
Yes, most of the time. I spend a lot time alone
