Anyone Have Issues With Their Sensitivity To Sound Continuing To Increase?

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

I just got my license back so went to Dollar Tree to stock up. The only music was at the cash register and it wasn't even that loud when I walked in. As I walked down the isles, I was fine further back, but as I walked closer to the register I would keep getting a headache. I put my ear plugs in but still had such a headache and the sound just kept feeling louder and louder I couldn't finish shopping and had to leave. Went to my car and had to sit a while before I could take out my ear… read more

This is a brother story. As a child, he was so sensitive to sound that he could not sit in church without having his ears covered during hymns and organ music. Fast forward 30 years and he gets a ticket for noise violation while driving through a neighborhood. His sensitivities seemed to have worked in reverse.

No, I’m good with sound. It’s flashing lights and strobe lights that I don’t like.

Yes my daughter does. She is newly diagnosed so we are trying to figure things out. She now is super sensitive to loud noises and any thing going inside her ears. I realized me yelling for my husband to come help when she was having a seizure and it actually made it worse. I felt so bad about it. I have alot more knowledge and a rescue Inhaler now so I stay calm and quiet for her.

I don’t like loud noises. Keep the sound on the tv low. High pitched sounds bother me.

He now has to find a new routine, learn it, then get used to it all over again. It's gonna take some time for his brain to process this new information but of yall be patient. It's only hard at first but you'll get used to it soon enough. Good luck and God speed. Plenty of other people here who should help if neeed.
