Is It Ok? Being On The Meds We Are Taking, And You Had Some Of Your Old Meds You Were Taken Off By Doc, And You Ran Out Of Your Current One

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

What does one do in a situation like that, and they don't have your meds for whatever reason and you can't track any down, does one resort to the old meds or what are you supposed to do without your meds temporarily? I would maybe take my old meds if I brought it up to my doc, then go from there, curious about the? What do you think? I've never ran out of my meds I couldn't get and did, but there was enough to make it till I got the meds needed, my opinion ,

I did have situations where something like that happened to me. One time I ran out of the med I was taken, which was name brand, and pharmacy had none of that in stock. What I did there was asked my doc. if It be ok to use generic brand he said it was no problem. Another situation was I lost the medication I called my doc. and he was able to call my insurance and have them pay for an emergency filling. Which was not the full prescription. It was the amount I would have had left from the subscription lost until the next refill was originally for. I never had time I needed to choose to take meds taken off.

Dave, you were taken off the old medication for a reason. Think this through buddy. No one puts themself in the position of running out of medication intentionally. I am gratefully for Kiasers 3 month supply program through mail order !! Check with your insurance. erictghom3

I would ask a doctor or Pharmacist before attempting anything like that

Every time I need a refill the pharmacy has a delay on refills due to not having enough ❣️

Dave7 you were taken off the drug for a reason, either didn't work or had bad side effects. If it were me I would contact my doctor before I would start using old drugs. only my opinion and what I would do.
