I'm like that or used to be. Now, I usually take what's offered. I really do my own research but I I generally always listen. They have to know more than me for right now plus they're there to help.

Before surgery I used to have migraine headaches in the morning if I unknowingly had a seizure while I was sleeping.

I’m on vimpat as well. I do get frequent headaches but I’m not sure if it’s related to vimpat. Could be the brain surgeries I have had. Good luck.

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member , I’ve been on Vimpat since November 2019 & about the only problem I’ve had with it is one of the side effects, is it made my fingers shake a little when my dosage was increased after a seizure & when it started doing that I told my Neurologist that I couldn’t take that extra dosage & so I went back to my regular dosage which continued to make my blood work for my Vimpat be below the normal of what it should have been. I had started out at 1 tablet of 100mg twice a day & then after that particular seizure she increased my morning dosage I think it was but I don’t remember the exact dosage but it may have been by another 100mg, I don’t remember. But I went back to the regular dosage & then after another seizure she increased my evening dosage by 50mg & I haven’t had any problems with the shaking like I did before. I’m almost 46 & back probably in my teens or so my Pediatric Neurologist put me on Depakote & I have Osteopenia in my left hip from that. I assume the other med you’re talking about is Keppra. Be careful with the side effects of that one. It can work for some but others have problems with it. In 2019 I took it for about 2 months & it made me so tired that I had to take a nap every day & eventually I started having trouble sleeping & so I got off it. It’s known to cause mood swings, anger issues & make people not act like themselves, all known as the keppra rage & it can cause excessive tiredness & trouble sleeping. Not everyone experiences these side effects, but many of us on this site have & so I’m just giving you a heads up of what to keep a watch for if you do start on it. I hope you get to feeling better soon & be sure to let your doctor know what’s going on. Good luck. Your friend in Texas, Becky
