Over the years I've run into some issues, but most were issues with medication being administered in excess bc my docs were doing CYA, as I was unstable. Yes it worked for awhile but many side-effects resulted. Would iconsider it malpractice, it depends on the severity. My one neurologist retired after I confronted him. Would I suit him? So often I want to due to issues that arose, but that's not me. It's not like what happened to a friend who's surgeon drilled through his sinus, the olfactory nerve into his frontal lobe, filled it with putty and didn’t tell him. Needless say he ended up with a pretty big settlement. He tells me all his food will always taste like cardboard from now on.

Thankfully haven't had problems in the current time, have had some in the past. That's why I feel you should never hesitate to question your Dr. about anything you need or want to know.

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member There's a lot of issues with it at the moment. A lot of posts for some reason get posted 3- sometimes up to 5 times but its a website issue not the person posting it.

The only bad thing that happened to me treatment wise was when a Neurologist that I had never seen before started treating me then decided it was a great idea to attempt to take me off Tegretol with no replacement. the whole thing failed in less then a month and resulted in two major TC seizures.

Dave7 I may have experienced a mistake made by a doctor in the past. I feel like you do doctors are human and mistakes will be made. in my mind mistakes and malpractice are 2 different animals. no way would I want to be doctor in todays world, too many patients with different problems and not enough doctors. can't imagine how they can keep up with the new problems and new drugs that seem to be popping up.
