Well, I've only had epilepsy for 26 years and even in that time there has been a lot of progress.

During our lifetime we have seen the greatest advancements in medical history as well in other fields. Neurologists have so many different choices to help us with so many different seizure meds and also medical devices that help control our seizures. When I think of how little they knew when I was a kid it's amazing. Back than at 5yrs old in 1963 they told my parents children with absence seizures as young children out grow it by puberty. No it doesn't. I'm living proof of that. They were so ignorant back then that they didn't even do an eeg to double check. So we have come along way.

I think the medical field in Epilepsy has gone a long way of finding other forms of treatments , besides the medications. Treatments like the VNS, RNS, and DBS

I've seen it has improved a lot through the years myself. Had been told a good while back. Since was able to go through test surgery to see if main surgery were possible and due to it being positive I was able too. Might not be a 100 percent cure for some, but others there might have been.
