I have struggled with sleep apnea and insomnia for years. I also have severe restless leg syndrome, and severe periodic limb movement disorder during sleep. All diagnosed during sleep study. I for sure had absence seizures caught on the standard eeg done during a sleep study last year. I already knew I had epilepsy at that point.
I think a number of sleep disorders are common with epilepsy. Have you had a sleep study done?

Insomnia and sleep apnea are completely different disorders. Insomnia is being unable to sleep, for whatever reason. My doctor said OSA, or Obstructive Sleep Apnea is caused when the throat/ esophagus is blocked because of shape of the throat or position of the tongue, which causes periodic interruptions in the patient’s breathing. Or it could be a more serious condition called CSA, or Central Sleep Apnea, which is when the body just stops breathing for periods of time, for no apparent reason. In some less frequent cases, CSA can ultimately cause a patient’s death, when they stop breathing for too long and the brain stops telling it it needs to. It would take a good inpatient sleep study to learn which one they are suffering from.
I agree with you and your post here, I may have had a little leg restless s little bit here and there, doesn't happen often but does, I'm not sure if it's my condition of epilepsy that is it doing it, or just a little habit I have developed over the years doing, my opinion
I would always try to get the doctors opinion. But if it was only a few days out of many, many days she may not have been as concerned as say with your epilepsy problems. If it were every night then she might have been more worried and addressed the sleeplessness more seriously. I know I have gone several days with only a few hours sleep and that is when my docs are very concerned.
Do You Get A Ok Night Sleep In Then Find Yourself Falling Back To Sleep After Soon Waking Up, Curious
Would You Say Your Condition Is Controlled For The Most Part, And Do You Have One Of Your Seizures Or Such Etc Come To You Out Of The Blue?
A Hypothetical Question Here, What If You Or We Didn't Have The Condition We Have And Had A Different One, How Would You Look At That?
