Well Dave my seizures have stabilized over the years. They are not out out of of control except for the occasional absence seizure or hand shaking when I doing meal prep. It's understandable to feel your condition and symptoms have changed or improved in some ways since your initial diagnosis. As one MyEpilepsyTeam member shared, coping with epilepsy can take time as you figure out which medications work for you and identify your unique triggers (source 1). Another noted that seizure types and severity can fluctuate, so it's possible you may notice differences over time (source 5). Whether your condition feels more stable now or not, having a diagnosis can provide some relief and help you better manage your health. It's great you have accepted your diagnosis and don't view it as problematic, but rather an inconvenience you can live with. Having a positive attitude can go a long way. As one member said, while the first years with epilepsy are a struggle, it can get easier to manage over time (source 1). Focusing on finding what works specifically for you, such as through lifestyle changes or tracking triggers, can also help (sources 1 and 5).

My seizures are less frequent probably due to meds. Have not noticed any changes. I’m pretty careful about triggers especially stress and alcohol!

I hope my symptoms are not changing. I really don’t have any symptoms, except the seizure itself, and I would like to keep it that way.
