Would only swim in pool with life guard who knew I was epileptic and in open water with someone in a kayak. I you lived closer, I would do the kayaking for you.

If you plan on swimming in a pool or lake, it’s always nice to have someone with you .

In the ocean on waves seldom in water over your head. Once had a built-in pool but no worry to me. I saw a story about an Olympic swimmer on FB by the Epilepsy Foundation who has epilepsy. Felt the same unless having severe type no worry. I've had partials while in water but still okay. Guess it depends on what type we have all should know what to expect from their own- if safe or not.

Swimming in open water can be risky for someone with a history of seizures. The excitement and exertion could potentially trigger a seizure. If you do swim, make sure you have someone with you who is aware of your condition and can help if needed. Consider wearing a life jacket as an extra precaution. Like with skydiving, check with your doctor before attempting swimming in open water. If your seizures are generally well-controlled, your doctor may approve it. But be sure to take safety precautions like having a swimming buddy, wearing a life jacket, and avoiding overexertion.
