Those Who Have Had Surgery Where Did You Get It Done?
Hi all I had my epilepsy surgery and I'm going on my 3rd surgery 2nd resection in less than a year๐ if they told me I need another I'm going to seek a 2nd opinion I'm trying to figure out good places to go that would be recommended. If you don't mind sharing where you went it would be appreciated we'd be willing to travel
I had AVM removal at Crouse Irving Memorial in Syracuse NY the other 2 at The Montreal Neurological Institute in Montreal Canada.
I had my anterior lobectomy at UCLA, my left hippocampecyomy at SantaMonica-UCLA and Vagal Nerve Stimulator at John Hopkins. I was going to have another procedure at UCSF but my main focus is in my Brocas. They are working with medications only !

In 2019- I had my right Temporal Lobe, Hippocampus, and Amygdala removed. I was seizure free for over a year.
My seizures are less and different.
The surgery went great! The Surgeon was Fantastic as was the entire team. Follow up care was awesome.
But my short term memory is gone. My emotions are not clear and I feel like another person some days.
Had my temporal lobe at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh PA. My neurologist's office is in here also so am at home with this hospital.
