Does Anyone Feel Like An Imposter?
Hi
- I feel like I should be working and doing things that I did prior to my epilepsy
- I regularly feel like I shouldn't be on disability and that I can do everything.
- My family and my Dr have been telling me that I can't work or do most things on my own especially with my myoclonic seizures as they have caused me to burn and cut myself when cooking, dropping things etc...
- I used to be a nurse and don't see myself as being disabled. Even on here I see and think that there are people… read more
Hanna, your I relate to this so much! I feel and think others think I can do the same things I did before. I was the Executive director of a homecare agency and lived what I did. I miss it terribly… read more
Migraine Suffers- There's Help
So there's now a name for a MIGRAINE condition called photofobia. It's not a fear Of anything
It's migraines and other discomforts from different types of light.
Computer screens, cell phones, bright sunlight, indoor lighting. New LEDs, fluorescent bulbs, even snow.
For me I live like a vampire. I can't stand bright light.
For others they get migraines
For others they get from exposure.
(fluorescents make me nauseous).

Emotional After Seizure?
Does anyone feel really emotional or a change in their emotions after their seizure or for the next day or so?
I find I can feel quite down and sad, sometimes near crying or I cry a little. Not crying because I can't cope or that I'm upset about having a seizure, just more that I feel really down. In the past I've also felt a little angry or moody after a seizure as well.
Just wondering if this is normal and if anyone else has experienced this?
I have grand mal/tonic clonic seizures.
Thanks x

I never feel soreness after my seizures. Even the time I had a seizure and cut my arm on an electric saw. I needed stitches but I never felt anything
How Do I Remember Things From Class?
So I'm going back to college. I start on August 11th. Here's my deal though. I've been in and out of college since I graduated in 2009 because of Epilepsy problems. I've gone to college three other times already. Also for three different things. Should have stayed with the same track I know but I'm indecisive and I get bored easily. First time I was at the community college, I was there for my AA but I had just found out that I had Epilepsy. My GPA started dropping near the end of a year and a… read more

Does Anyone Else Get Really Embarrassed When They Have A Seizure In Public?
I had a seizure in this bar that I regularly go to yesterday. I just feel so embarrassed. Whenever I have a seizure in public I just want the ground to open up and swallow me so I can hide.
Luckily I was with a friend and she got me home and made sure I got into my flat OK. I'm very familiar with the staff at this bar and i just feel like now I'll be known as that women who had a seizure on the floor. I like to be invisible when I'm out, just blend in with crowd and when I have a seizure it's… read more

Just Asking
Does anyone else hate reloading their pillbox as much as I do? I hate it. No real reason.
Nice thanks. I'm going to get one as well...
