Does Anyone Else Have An Up & Down Type Of Depression?

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭
Gilbert, AZ

Does anyone else have an up & down type of depression? One day you’re good, another day you’re doing well but something small makes you emotional & cry all of the sudden, another day you're good but something annoying happens & you get angry fast, another day and you’re sitting with your kitty (or other pet) on your lap at 8pm & you just hold them, thanking them & saying you love them, because they’ve saved your life... going in an up & down wobbly circle.

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member

As well as my epilepsy I also suffer from depression so I am on antidepressants as well as my anticonvulsants anyway.

Should I Be Co Concerned About Seeing The New Star Wars Movie?

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭
Tampa, FL

My last seizure was in June 2015 due to lack of sleep and stress. I never have issues with strobe lights however I see warnings alot lately about them at Universal Orlando and The Watchman series.

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member

Totally agree with BryanMartin. The lights effect some people and not others. It’s great to see these types of warnings are now happening. Keep well.

Do Any People Here Experience Back Problems With Things Like Depression.

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭
Seattle, WA

I Get depressed about my experiences with epilepsy. People don’t get why I can’t remember things and that causes a lot of friction in my dealings with other people. That causes depression for me and because of that, I tend to slump. That has taken its toll on my back and has given me a pinched nerve in my back.

Are Service Dog Able To Detect Focal Seizures As Well As Other Seizures

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭
Vancouver, WA

I suffer from focal seizures and I've had one grand mal. Are service dogs able to exact focal seizures just as well as Grand Mals? I ask the question because I get out on my own on my scooter and left alone in my home. It would be perfect if they could detect them ahead of time to get me out of Harm's Way.

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member

Tired And Sleepy

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭
Poynton, UK

Around 4 p.m. I always feel that I have to go back to bed and have a kip. I have been told that that certain medication can make you tired but my doctor says that the medication I am on, should not make me tired. I have looked this up and found that epilepsy can make you more tired. Does anyone else feel this way and how do you cope with it?

General Health & Well-being Vs Epilepsy

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭
Kamnik, SLO

How does your general wellbeing and other health issues effect your epilepsy.
Along with epilepsy and all challenges associated with epilepsy, WE all still face other general health issues etc.
What about YOU when you fall ill; When you cook up a fever, upset stomach, ... for a couple of days, or any other health issues. HOW DOES THAT EFFECT YOUR EPILEPSY, & SEIZURES?
No difference, More seizures, or [maybe even]Less seizures ??

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member

You too!!! Menopause is wrecking me. On top of all hormone fluctuations and temporal lobe epilepsy- I feel like I’m going crazy.
