Not pregnant but wondering for the ladies that have kids and have epilepsy, how does or did the pregnancy effect your epilepsy?

Hi everyone!

I'm taking 4 different meds in the morning, three different meds in the afternoon, and 4 in the evening. Has anyone ever been suspicious that so many different meds may actually be increasing our seizure frequency? I've been doing some research and certain siezure meds in conjunction with other anti-convulsants may actually cause seizures. Do your neurologsts just keep adding new meds to your regiment or does he ween you off one while adding another?

I'm kinds still relatively new to epilepsy and wasn't offered much support from the hospital or anywhere. I've been put up to 1200 mg per day of tegretol retard. This is the maximum dose and seems very high - has anyone else been on such a high dose and did you suffer any side effects?

I here people say when they feel a seizure coming that take their medication (with aura's or seizure dogs). I take 1- 1000mg keppra in the morning and 2 at night but sometimes I feel them coming and can't stop them. My question is what type of medication is taken to stop them at that moment.
