Bruises

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭
Excelsior Springs, MO

Has any body discovered random bruises on them while taking any seizure meds? I get random ones then it knots up then starts itching so bad I end up breaking the skin.
I'm scared that something is wrong.

I recently had an episode asleep and I’m pretty sure I did not hit anything since I’m very careful by sleeping in the middle of the bed, not too many pillows but just enough for protection, etc. But… read more

Repetitious

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭
Richmond, VA

When I do something that is repetitious takes me straight into a seizure without warning. Do anyone else have that experience? Example: nearing a bridge, I can't walk or drive across any bridge if I can't see or know whats on the other side; explaining myself over and over again; being pressed to do something or doing something I don't want to do and anything that is tedious.

3-day Vs. 5-7 Day EEG

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭
Reno, NV

I got a call from my doctor's office today, and even though I had a 3-day EEG in June in Reno, the new doctor in Sacrament wants to admit me to the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit at her hospital for 5-7 days. Has anyone been in a state of the art epilepsy monitoring unit? Do they do more tests the just the video EEG? I told the nurse the last one was $30,000 and I had to pay part of that.

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member

Thank you KatMarron. Happy Thanksgiving, I really hope your doing well
I had my 5-day EEG this past February and they captured 4 seizures, but it took 2 1/2 days before I had one. They weaned me… read more

Random Question

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭
Shanklin, UK

Why is it a woman can get away with anything but a man can't
Men and women can both have long hair. A woman can put it anyway she wants with no problem but a man has it down or in a ponytail
After I've had a shower I sometimes like to get few waves in my hair so I plait it when wet both sides like pig tails and let in dry indoors but if I was to go out like it I would more than likely get funny looks. Why?
Woman shave there legs men don't why? Again funny looks.
I think something are silly as… read more

It all depends on what you like, in my opinion.

But in all honesty, I think it has more to do with the culture of the people. Kind of how trends change.

Can Pain Trigger A Seizure?

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

it was my first tattoo so I have never felt this sort of pain before. there was no blackout, no convulsions, just a little face twitching.
so I wnt to know if pain can rigger a seizure so I can do my best to avoid another situation like that.

Lamictal Side Effects

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭
Atlanta, GA

Does anyone feel tired more than usual, jerk in the middle of the night with itching and twitching, feel dizzy, confused to where you often lost your train of thought right when you started the task and have blurred or double vision?

I'm having trouble distinguishing because I'm also pregnant and since this itch factor is not a listed side effect I would like to know if anyone else felt like this before.

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member

I feel overly tired when my protien is low. Try a healthy protien snack. Cheese stick of string cheese or banana, glass milk. Perks me back up Especially since I don't take cafine

Vimpat

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭
Olathe, KS

I just started taking Vimpat along with the Lamictal. Keppra gave me horrible side effects and the doctor said this one is better. Has anyone taken this combo before? Did it work? Any bad side effects?

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member

Thank you for the insight. I hope this combo works.
