Does anyone take aptiom and still have seizures a lot? If so I'm trying to find what triggers them because I've taken 3 eeg test that have all come back normal doctors are still not sure of where the root of the problem is ..

Thanks for your reply I'm looking for a different opinion right now because my neurologist has me on a drive restriction and I have no answers yet it's crazy I need to know how this started they first gave me Dilantin at the beginning for emergencies only but I was never able to take it because they decided on aptiom instead

I was taking Aptiom for a short time 3 years ago. It didn't seem to help with my seizure control. Watch out, the side effects for me effected my "Coordination, I lost being steady during walking, walked onto walls, fell, and seemed like I needed to nap more. I was on very low dose, and Dr. weaned me off in about 2 months.

I just started Aptiom taking 600 mg once at night. First 15 days ok, last 5 terrible. Increased to 900 mg last night and had good night.

I've been on Aptiom for the last three weeks. Tried lots of meds before most recently oxcarbazapene and Dilantin. I have a cavernous malformation that causes seizures on my right side. Last about 20 seconds, very uncomfortable but can maintain activities. Was in an epilepsy monitoring floor after seizure two years ago. Took me off all meds to try to induce seizures to chart where in my brain they are coming from. Had my typical seizures for 5-6 days but none strong enough to produce any measurement. My GP warned me it was a wild goose chase. I finally left and switched neuro's.

I don't take aptiom and I have had 3 + normal EEG's, the dr's tell me I'm having no-epileptic seizures. They put me on Topmax and makes me crazy.
