Do You Know Your Triggers For Your Seizures?
Some people know exactly what will trigger their seizures. For example, some people have seizures which are triggered by strobe lights. Others are triggered by music. Others are triggered by additional stress (especially during high stress periods like certain holiday seasons or high stress events). I know that there is an increased chance of triggering a seizure if I do not keep my mind distracted from thinking of things, events, etc. that are high stress events for me, i.e. large gathering… read more
Stress is bad for me, I cannot listen to others problems anymore xx Phew !! Not ours but the family ones who moan n groan and you cannot get off phone to them shhh xx
I commented on your message before I love the idea that we are program to have seizures I have been told it is called psychosomatic seizures I believe a lot of us use our seizures to cope with reality I have been known when I am stressed out I have a partial complex seizure. I would like to add have any of you heard of the 12 steps and traditions from AA will I read those steps this helps me live with my condition. I have learned that when I have a seizure my brain is coming out of the symptoms like a dry drunk it is like I have a hang over I am dazed and confused post lick tick as I was told so I know that in the past I have been covering up myself with my seizures lick a built in shock treatment this is what a counselor told me. So I have been losing memory of what happen or the feeling of what happen so if someone looks mad or angry I have no idea what it is about since I have lost the fear of their burst of anger. I think I would be scared without having seizures since I would be really stressed out due to remembering everyone's anger or attitudes. I suppose I have spoke too much.
@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member Exactly! The creation of this network was the greatest gift to all of us who have seizure disorders. We have others to talk to every day who know exactly how we feel. And we can share information about medications and side effects and things which have worked for some of us, not to metion being able to talk to those on here who have gone many years without a seizure! The best I have ever managed to do was 2 years. Thank you very much for you comments on a bad day for me!
Yes, like getting over heated or if I don't get enough rest. If I haven't ate.
