How Many Times Is It Appropriate For Your Neuro To Reschedule Your Appointment? How Much Time In Advance Should They Contact You?

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

I ask because my clinic has rescheduled over 60% of my appointments in the past year and a half sometimes the same appointment will get rescheduled twice. They have contacted me the day of the appointment or the day before so I end up waiting another month or two to see a neurologist. Is this what normally happens?

Hi there pem here just wanted to give u an answer to ur question...i had a neorologist that i would say spoiled me...I'm in Burnaby, BC, Canada...i was super lucky to meet my doctor...he is a very straight forward person...but I liked it because in 2003 he told me w\ his chin up & said confidently that I had to see another neoro doctor....I had to have my tests done again they couldnt believe bow Nant seizures I was having...they lost count at 150 per day & night...I was having so many it explained why I was having so many problems in school...I had my brain surgery & I was staying in the DTES...In Vancouver...my doc was always there, & be was like NEVER ILL...I got notes from him he was the doctor that I've had the longest...he cured me!!! I had my brain surgery...I lived downtown & after my what I thought were anxiety attacks...to finally being free of it all...after getting better I met my husband Kerry & after my doc had done this for 15 yrs he decided to go to heart problems & is now top neorologist of VAN GEN HOSPITAL...he left & abandoned me.(just kidding) I can call him but I haven't seen him in a couple years...I know he was a great doctor to me & I was very lucky it just so happened when I would have a bad seizure. He was the 1st place j called & the last visit of his day...he never turned me down because he knew how many seizures I would have in a day...it got to how much meds I was upped every time I saw him be was good to me & ee got 6o know each other having a great doctot patient relationship...the bad thing is...is that my epilepsy has returned in can go & see him if i need a straight forward answer...i mise u doc hope ur saving patients where u r now...miss u hope u save someone today!!! He was the best...if something happems to my heart (which i hope it doesnt....hahaha)... If ur having seizures get a new doctor...u need sp treatmrnt as a patient...gl at finding 1!!!! Take care pemeten...

It depends on the circumstances, my neurologist who was also specialist usually sent me a letter in the mail sometimes giving me between a few weeks and a few months notice. But he could also be late for my appointments because he worked at the facility i went to, the main hospital and another facility plus he had interns which he was responsible for. He only rescheduled on me twice. If a neurologist reschedules more that 4 times time to find a new one.
