Does Anyone Who Have A Stressful Day, Not Seizure Until They Are Finally Relaxed ?
I noticed with myself, after a high stressful day , don’t always seizure during the high spike of the stress. It will happen when I start to sit and relax after the event.
It took me a few years to figure out why I had so many seizures while I was at church. Then about 18 months ago I was looking down at a book and saw a light strobe effect on the page. It was the ceiling fan blades caused the light to strobe . I looked up and saw the flicker effect on the white hymnals . It is so very subtle most had to wait a bit to see it.
It’s common for people with epilepsy to have more seizures when they relax and release stress, than when they are busy. When people with epilepsy relax, it is then that they have more time to think about their epilepsy. When they are busy, other thoughts are to the fore. I used to experience this, when I finished a day’s work and relaxed my neurologist confirmed that this was a common for people who suffered with epilepsy.
My experience has been that when I was working, I was at greater risk of having a seizure as stress was reducing. I was always watchful and fearful during my journey coming home from work. I believe this was because I had more time to think about my epilepsy and more time to be fearful. Fortunately when I was involved in doing things I enjoyed, I had fewer seizures than when I was bored or allowed my mind to wander. I hope this is useful.
I refuse to deal with stress I sit down or I shut ppl out my door. I refuse to have a seizure because of someone .. sorry you had to deal with that
@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member,
You go girl. Seriously good for you. I started menopause a while back and my excuse is I am too old for this shit. Lol
It is really positive you can recognize a stressful situation and defuse it to maintain both you're physical health, and maintain you're sanity. My theory is life is too short as it is. Why be miserable when you are here. Hugs Wendy
