I Was Told It Would Be A Good Idea To Keep My Brain Entertained With Things Im Interested In Like Research On Celebrties Or Research On American History. Has Things Your Interested In Ever Kept Those Seizures Behind Closed Doors?

For me I have researched and found my triggers to be low blood sugar and not hydrating properly along with stress. I am doing my best to eat every couple hours and keep hydrated through out the day.

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member I did not it would definitely prevent you from having a seizure, but it will definitely reduce the chances of having one (thinking and thus stressing about having your next seizure greatly increases the chances of triggering one). Great interest for keeping the brain busy because any researching calls for real focus. As for reading, I have slipped away from regularly reading books too. It didn't help that one reading A Mind Unraveled and non-fiction book (cannot recall the title) that I was reading at the time both brought on aura barrages. When we are out of the pandemic or controlled enough for hospitals to open to focus on other things and I am able to be sent to the Tufts seizure center, I will definitely bring A Mind Unraveled along with me. I am pretty sure that the stress of being in the seizure center in addition to reading that book will definitely quickly trigger more than enough seizures for the doctors at the center to get all of the information that they need to recommend the next step in my treatment.

However, what I do recommend for you and for me now is that each of us finds a book that we believe that we will enjoy reading (probably fiction) that will take us away from the stress of the life of the world around us and thoughts of it even if it is for those short periods while we are reading and more importantly enjoying reading again. Update me on when you are back to reading to one. A good book on one of your favorite research topics is good too as long as it is not of a subject (death of a celebrity or a darker period in history, and excellent example of this in terms of history is the book that is the compiled information from those in the last minutes of their lives and the errors made by NY police and fire department leaders because they could not work together after the first and then second of the Twin Towers were hit by airliners on 9/11/01.

no... but i have food triggers. it all depends on your trigger. there is a boatload of things that trigger a seizure... photosensitivity seizures, stress seizures, food seizures, genetic, ect. ... and yes boardom seizures. google said a vary small amount of people need to be active (mental or physical). it is in kids and it is from switzerland... so idk.

If your seizures are triggered by something it's good to keep your brain busy doing the things you enjoy. If I stay busy I can usually avoid my triggers.

For me too much excitement can trigger me to seizure. For example, going to parties, get together, family Holiday’s, concerts and sports events.

Now if I were to watch tv, movies, the internet and video games, doesn’t trigger my seizures.
