I’ve Got An Appointment At My Neurologist Office Tomorrow But I’m Not Seeing My Doctor It’s A Nurse Practitioner Instead

Of my neurologist. My question is should I tell te np I want to be fitted for the wheelchair or wait til I see my general practitioner at the end of the month?

nurse practitioners are very good to work with as they work with your neurologist on patient cases to ensure they are taken care of especially. I have noticed personally that an NP pays close attention to my medical needs, will make note of those medical needs then report them back to the neurologist. I have had good results working with an NP personally. I've also experienced time when I would work with the NP for like 10 to 20 minutes then the specialist would come in to speak with me for the rest of the visit.

@ everyone I need this for safety purposes do to balance issues now and other things as well . I need to put my mind at ease. I’m having to stay on the couch to much. I want my mobility back even if it’s just in my own home I don’t always have the energy but this will help I know. My gut is telling me that I need to do this . But not that I want to. I need to have peace and mind right now and right now I don’t. If the wheelchair ♿ can help me and I’m sure it will a great deal especially in public places then I’d rather have my mobility on wheels than risking it on foot. I don’t want to have to go through another medication change either that’s another thing I’m trying to avoid with this to help current new effects that I’m having as well. But like I said I’m not happy being stuck on the couch do to several conditions I’m dealing with. I want my independence back. I’m pretty confident from what I’ve heard that a wheelchair ♿️ will give me my independence back .

It's dif per person, I think that you could ask about that, and if she is qualified for that,if so I wouldn't see a prob with that, and then that would be your call on getting it, and if you did get it I'd see if it suits you and it fits to your speccifations all around where you ok with and have have no prob with it, my opinion

Nurse practioners are well prepared to fill the role of a physician and your desire to be fitted with a wheelchair may actually be referred to another department. You may be referred to physical therapy first anyway. An NP will be consulting with your regular neurologist regarding the wheelchair anyway.

If the Nurse practitioner is directly working with the Neurologist, it should be fine. It may even be a Epilepsy Nurse practitioner.
