As Of This Morning I Had To Schedule An Appointment With My Neurologist Office. Do To The Fact DMV Is Trying To Suspend Me Again With My

Privilege to keep driving. I’m not seeing a doctor though. I’m seeing a nurse practitioner, but I will bring up tomorrow being fitted for a wheelchair ♿️ for my daily usage. Due to the fact my mobility is changing on me and at this point I feel it’s needed for several reasons.

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member Mine does not. To be honest, (and this is also my opinion) it's common sense for me not to be driving since seizures are unpredictable. It's not worth to be driving and having a seizure behind the wheel with the result of getting into a car accident. My neurologist does put it in my "After Visit Summary" along with no heights (such as being on a ladder even with a spotter) or open flames (gas stove) when cooking.

I'm not to sure on us state driving medical laws but where I am only a dr can do this. A Nurse practitioner can't. Even if they have all the information.

I hear ya, I haven't been able to drive my entire life (and I was diagnosed with epilepsy when I was 15). I am in the same boat as @A MyEpilepsyTeam Member Just like what I've shared with others in the past, a disability bus pass cost $60 for two years when the regular bus rider pays the same price but it's a monthly pass. Price of gas is so high these days, (especially living in Hawaii), I've always used the quote "I would rather be sweating off fat and calories on two feet, rather than money and fuel on four wheels". Thanks yeah epilepsy for the added benefits! 😜

Leslie, We are all different when it comes to our safety do to our epilepsy condition. For me The way my spine is bothering me as well It probably wouldn’t be safe to stay on my feet 24/7 I’ve looked on the Permobil website. That’s the company that brought Tilite a few years ago. Just the thought of something happening to me with me on foot all the time scares the hell out of me. Like loosing my balance and not able to walk . I’ve had that happen several times in the past. That right there has me considering a wheelchair ♿ over the seated walker or the other. A few have said don’t consider the wheelchair that it be the wrong thing to do in my situation. But a good number have also said to go with the wheelchair ♿ and I wouldn’t regret having it. I think it’s all in preference with the person on what they would prefer to use.

I don't miss driving from how severe my accidents were. My second had run in to a parking lot hitting a vehicle, not conscious of it happening. When I was being helped out of my car and the police told me of that happening scared me. I asked if there was any1 in the car and thankfully wasn't. I would of felt bad if hurting some1 due to that. I don't miss driving, so those that still can/do please be care full when driving.
