How Do You Deal With A Drug Like Keppra That Reportedly Contributes To “Keppra Rage”?

Well! I get my laundry done. And clean house! Sweep and mop the floors…maybe twice! Vacuuming helps too. Marijuana, alcohol or other drugs? No.

I was only on Keppra for 2 weeks and didn't have rage. During the second week, I did nothing but cry, so the doctor and I decided it was not the medication for me.

I have only been on Levetiracetam Keppra since 2019. Once I got better in 2022, I researched the medication and that is when I found out about the rage. I have learned to control my emotions and sometimes when others try to trigger my rage because they are in rage, I just don't let them bother me. My life is more important than the opinions or feelings others have about me, and that includes my husband. He never researched my disease or my medications, he just thought I was being a mean person when this disease started with the first three grand mal seizures.

Not everyone can handle the rage side effect of Keppra. . Some families can’t get use of their family member’s emotions change . That person may of been full of joy. But when they got put on Keppra they would get angry easily.

Some people had to talk to the Dr. to try and change to a different medication.

stopped taking it because of what extreme effect the medication had. At first there was just this mood swing off and on then it became to where I would get more annoyed over the smallest of things and my language was very bad as it became very bad, started cussing like a trucker. Both my husband and I were picking up on this quick change of how Keppra changed me into someone I am not. We both said it was time to have the medication removed. As soon as I stopped taking it, my real personality came back.
