Bring back to pharmacy they discard them properly

By law they have to still be good at least 6 months after the date they list. If you have medication older than that, you should take it to the pharmacist for proper disposal. They recommend you should never flush extra medication down the toilet, as it pollutes the sewers and ground runoff, and can get into the drinking water.

If you’re no longer using the medication, Do Not flush them down the toilet. Some pharmacies have a medication recycle box/ container. Talk to your Dr. for alternative decisions.

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member This is why they tend to advise not to take out of date meds. Especially AED's. Yes they are technically still ok but because the strength is out the dosage is no longer correct which throws everything off.
