Why Is It After Each Seizure I Have To Go To Sleep Because I'm So Tired And Sleepy.
It depends on how violent the convulsion was, your body needs to recover
JaimeCross, those grand mals are a challenge. Mine are after I go to sleep and like you it takes a while to recover. Could be a week+ for me to recover (but I’m old+!)
I will be out of it for anywhere from a day to a couple of days. I have experienced when I was in bed and heard what was going on around me (after the event) and would be in and out. I would feel like I was in a dream. Sleeping, then waking up for a little bit, and then falling back asleep. Afterward, when I finally started coming out of that state of semi-consciousness, my whole body hurt. I felt like I ran a marathon. Sadly, I would know that I had a grand mal seizure by the state of my tongue. It would always be bitten up around the outer edges of my tongue.
@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member , Here’s a link that might help explain things. I know after many of my seizures I’m weak & tired & take a nap. https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/what-... . Your friend in Texas, Becky
It's dif per person, I sometimes get tired after one, but sometimes not, I think it has a few things that may contribute to me and my condition, but like I said, what effects me may not have the same effect on someone else, my opinion
