So when I had my first seizure at 52 it did not bother me. When I was 16, I had Neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) removed from between L3 & L4 and at 21 I had 2 surgeries on both arms for the same thing. I was told back when I was 16 that I had a growth on my brain that I could live through with no problems or I would start having seizures. It took 36 years of waiting for the first seizure, so when I started to have seizures it did not bother me for I was waiting. As for the NF1, I had surgery over one of my old 1981 scars, on Sept. 13, where they removed some nerve and some NF1 that was 1.5 " x 0.2" that did not cause any problems with my arm, hand or fingers.

When I was diagnosed with Epilepsy, I was almost 2yrs old . I didn’t understand what I had . I just knew I had to start taking medications .

It wasn’t until I started going to school , when I started figuring out I was different from others.

When I was diagnosed at 5 years old, and just before I started school, I remember Mum just told me to remember to take my pills at lunch. As we had our lunch at our desks, I would bend my head down and sneak the pills into my mouth and drink something. Then continue eating.
