In 2017, I was left on Phenytoin, Divalproex and Clonazepam when they did brain surgery to remove 98% of 3 Neuroepithelial cysts. I still take petit (Absence) seizures occasionally now, unlike in the past where most seizures were Grand mal (Tonic-clonic) seizures. I am still on these meds with 1 less Divalproex per day.

Yes. When I got my wisdom teeth taken out. Apparently they had to do it when I was really young to do a MRI as well.

When I got my appendix removed in 1973, when I was 12, they had to give me a double dose to get me to sleep because I was still wide awake after the first injection then I fell asleep fast after the second needle dose. My appendix was behind my liver, so they had to temporary remove my liver and place it on my stomach to get to my appendix. They then put my liver back in and you can still see a large scar from the operation and back then they had to teach me how to walk again.

When I was in my 20's for knee surgeries, they didn't want to do it, and did spinal blocks instead. Every surgery that I have had since then, I have had anesthesia with no problem. At least once I was told by an anesthesiologist that the medications he was using would make it less, not more likely, that I would have a seizure.
The majority of my surgeries have been orthopedic, although I was knocked out (twice) for VNS implant and for oral surgery to have wisdom teeth out too. No problems anywhere. I have an upcoming an RNS surgery and expect to be out for it. No one has suggested that I won't be for any reason!
