Losing a child is an unimaginable tragedy. There's no "right" way for someone with epilepsy or any health condition to react. Grief has no rules or timeline. Allow yourself to fully feel and process whatever emotions arise, whether that's shock, anger, sadness, guilt, or anything else. It may help to connect with others going through similar losses, or find support groups for bereaved parents. Consider talking to a counselor if you feel stuck in any stage of grief. Be extra gentle with yourself during this difficult time.

I don't think there is or shouldn't be an expectation. I've heard moms grieve the hardest and longest. I saw my sister went through and 20 years later she remembers how it was the 1st time she held him til the day his casket was closed. Mothers just grieve hard. And it doesn't matter what anyone else says. So sorry, you. You have my blessings & prayers.

I am so sorry ,Jessica. Please accept my condolenses. Hoping someone with much more wisdom than I responds. Many books have been written, including the 12 Steps of Grief by Kubler-Ross. All I have offer is to allow your heart to lead the way. I pray you have loved ones who allow you to talk about how you're feeling and allow you to grieve
