Balancing Giving My Child Freedom As Such Teens Need 'autonomy'. At School 100% Time Aide (she Hates It). How To Safely Give Her Autonomy?
My daughter is 16 and diagnosed with Lennox Gastaut Syndrome. She has been on 14 different medication treatments and the two medications she is currently on have been the best so far. She still has absence seizures every day, however much fewer in number and shorter in length everyday. She also has autism, CAPD, and ADHD.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience. I am so very grateful for hearing others thoughts and experiences.
I agree with you and your post and concern for your daughter, I'm not doc, and I do have a condition of generalized epilepsy, they weren't stable back in the day but are more so than before, as for the question here, I would suggest asking her doc about this and If they can get you any other resources and leads to say a specialist in that field, but don't give up on her condition and such etc, but hang in there and try and stay pos and good luck with your search for her better well being, and outcome, my opinion

You’re welcome. I was in her shoes so I know how tough it is growing up with seizures. Every single book my class read in Literature my mom read too and guided me through.
You are welcome from me and the other people here as well,

When I was in school I would do whatever I could while in class and take it all home for homework where my mom checked and corrected all of my mistakes. I was on the 504 Plan which is for students with learning disabilities. So I struggled all through school too. Before I had seizures I could remember and do everything on my own but right when my seizures started I couldn’t remember anything. I’m now in my 40’s and I still struggle with memory as I continue to have seizures.
Are There Any Friends Who Have Endured The Challenges Of Being An Epileptic Single Parent To Young Children With No Local Support System?
