It's understandable to feel scared or unsure when first diagnosed with epilepsy. Many members of the epilepsy community have shared feeling similarly. Over time, they've learned important things about themselves and how to manage their condition. For example, identifying triggers, finding the right treatment plan, and connecting with others who understand the experience can provide reassurance. Living with epilepsy also presents opportunities for personal growth and self-discovery. As one member put it, letting go of assumptions allows us to see ourselves and life more clearly. Having patience, staying hopeful, and focusing on what you can control as you learn to live with epilepsy can help you continue to adjust over time.

The best thing I just recently found out was my sister's opinion. I always thought she was disappointed and embarrassed to have me as her sister. She recently told me "your a very strong person. I could never deal with all the things that the seizures the have taken from you. I don't know how you do it."
The only thing i could say is "well... it's normal to me. I don't know anything else."
She said "I never thought of that.
I was 7 when they started. It's been 59 years.
