Anyone Else Usually Have Some Issues When You Go To The Next Step On An Increase Of Meds.

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭
Vancouver, WA

Ive been slowly increasing meds to get to where i was before. Each time i increase, i have tremors and maybe a seizure. Then im fine until the next increase. I dont remember this happening to me before.

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member

It sounds like medication needs must be becoming stronger because you are in need of an increase. If that is the case I can see how the stronger medication or more frequent use can be causing side… read more

Do You Have Tremors Of Various Levels Even When In Seizure Free State?

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭
Lakeville, MA

I never noticed (except when using fingernail clips in recent years). And I did know that they were called tremors until the first visit by the doctors. They had me put my arms forward so they could assess the tremor level when I wasn't even noticing it. I am just curious if you have various intensity of tremors, as I do? And when they are their worst? And how bad are they at the worst?

I never experienced tremors, beyond intensity when trimming fingernails, before I went to EEG Long Term… read more

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

I just moved to a new state and of course a new job. I hate explaining i have epilepsy because you just get treated differently. Also, dont feel answering questions and going over my life story.

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member

Do You Experience Vomiting Or Nausea As Part Of Your Epilepsy? (and Not Caused By Medication)

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

I'm interested to know if vomiting or feeling like you'd like to be sick is a known occurance linked with epileptic seizures? And if you have experience of where that might fit in the epilepsy chain? Eg. Aura, seizure, or post ictal.

I know people can be nauseous from medication so I'm only asking if it's specifically related to the seizure itself.

Look forward to replies. Thank you.

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member

I usualy don't feel well before a seizure. Usually it just feels like a migraine. Sometimes i will have mild nausea but that almost always occurs with migraines for me. So hard to tell/ distinguish… read more

Has Anyones Seizure Triggers Changed?

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭
Huntsville, AL

Has anyone's seizure triggers changed? For example caffeine or alcohol used to not trigger you but now it does. Or it used to trigger you but now it doesn't. Same with other common triggers...I was just using it as an example.

I was just curious. Because something that is a trigger for some used to never bother me, but now I think it may be starting to sometimes as of recently. Just wondering if it's happened to anyone else.

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member

I'm so sorry you had what must have been very frightening experience. Also, thankful God lead you safely to that cab. God blessed all that day 🙏

Auras With Epilepsy

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭
Detroit, MI

My 9 year old son was recently diagnosed with epilepsy. He’s dealt with migraines with aura since he was 4 and been on daily migraine meds since then. They have never worked for him. He has gotten an aura/migraine every 10 days to two weeks. He had his first seizure at school last March. His neurologist gave us rescue meds and we hoped it was a one time thing. Unfortunately in August he had his second seizure that lasted so long we had to call 911.

My question is
Could his… read more

I would work directly with your neurologist on the matter. I stay in very close contact with my neurologist frequently as he is aware of the temporal lobectomy that has caused the chronic migraines to… read more
