A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭
Bradford, UK

My therapist wants to put me on anti psychotic medication but i feel it's too drastic how can I make him understand my epilepsy plays a big part in my mental health state I feel like I'm being passed around and nobody really knows what to do with me :(

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member

You need to have your neurologist to talk to your therapist. They can discuss what is or isn't safe to take with your seizure meds.

After A Seizure

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭
Overland, MO

Does anyone else freak out after having a seizure? Like I cry and freak out because I don't know what happened. I've always done this. After a while of crying I calm down and ask what happened.

Seizure Alert Dogs

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭
Fort Mitchell, AL

Has anyone thought about getting a seizure alert dog? Here lately I have had my seizures frequently so I can't drive but I have almost had a couple seizures in the store so I am getting kind of nervous about what to do if that happens...it's making me just want to stay home away from people so my husband suggested a service dog that might help me get my independence and confidence back....thoughts?

Thanks Jeff. I am kind of in your shoes. I have had photosensitivity epilepsy for 22 years. All of that time I have been able to work and live fairly independant with a seizure here and there. But… read more

Does Anybody Else Have Trouble With Memory?

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭
Pocomoke City, MD

Ever since I had my first grand mal seizure, I have had trouble with short and long term memory. It drives me crazy sometimes because half of the time it has to do with my son or family. Now I have to write a lot down to help remember something. It really does suck.

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member

Yes. It is not too bad I think. I try to keep notes that are visible.

Am I The Only One Who Cannot Find Someone Special?

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭
Salt Lake City, UT

In my entire life, I have had three serious relationships: My first girlfriend in elementary school, the woman I should have married but was too stupid to see it, and my failed marriage of three-and-a-half-years. I know someone is going to tell me there is someone out there for me. Well, that person is a freaking liar. I have a condition no one understands. My brain is aging faster than my body. If there is someone for me, she had better hurry because I do not know how long I am going to be… read more
