I would like to ask a question. When you have a seizure, does anyone else get really paranoid about anything? For me, it is my bills. After a seizure I forget I have paid my monthly bills and within a day or so after a seizure, I will repay one or two. Twice recently I have paid my rent twice, thankfully, I have a very understanding owner who calls and checks on me to see if I want her to return the check. i'm going to my neurologist today because I can't get Seizure control. I am allergic to Dilantin and phenobarbital and Keppra was a nightmare for me! Gabapentin didn't help either. I need a success story of a second medicine that has worked with Lamictal....anybody?

If epilepsy was a person what would you say and do to him/her?

I was originally diagnosed with simple and complex partials based on my history and symptoms, but the only thing my video EEG picked up was a generalized absence seizure even though I had auras for several of the days I was there. (My auras are waves of a strange feeling in my head like dizziness, sometimes with tingling in my scalp.) Just two weeks shy of my being 7 years seizure free I had a grand mal. Now I find myself feeling like I'm new to this all over again. I'm 40 but I feel like I'm 12 yrs old again & afraid I'll have a seizure any time any where. I began to think I took medication but almost didn't really have epilepsy. I'm not talking about short term memory loss. I can forget what I'm talking about in the middle of a sentence, and not just once in a while, but frequently. I also have moments where I don't recognize my surroundings and panic a little until I remember where I am and what I'm doing. Just wondering if anyone has dealt with these issues and if it has been or can be fixed.

I feel like I'm going crazy!!

Has anyone had a seizure in public? I have had them and am so embarrassed because I was an appointment for a meeting and had one. Not only did the person I was with see it but she got the entire office and EMS. I know I shouldn't be embarrassed but I hate being out in public whrlej I have one. How do you guys handle that?. I'm really embarrassed.
