Is It Common For People With Epilepsy To Have "unremarkable" Brain Scan? Why Did The MRI Say "chronic Migraine"?
I had an MRI done and was told it was to check for seizures but it says "chronic migraine" and "unremarkable" on it. It is saying my brain is normal size and shape, do others with epilepsy get this result?
I have archnoid cysts on the fronto-temporal region of my brain and the neurologists have told me for over a decade, almost 25 years that it's normal. Now, my new epilepsy doctor, first epilepsy… read more
Has Anyone Else Had Their Epilepsy Type Diagnosis Changed?
When I was young, I was diagnosed with petite mal based on eeg and symptoms. But in my mid teens, my diagnosis was changed to temporal lobe, again based in a different eeg and symptoms. Has this happened to anyone else? And if anyone has an answer as to why this happened, I would love to hear about it!
I wasn't told outright but for years my paperwork listed mine as "drug resistant" generalized epilepsy
I have been referred for some testing because of the ways the pattern and severity has changed… read more
Ladies Let's Talk.
Peroids and Epilepsy. Ufff. Anyone have success with certain kinds of birth control pills? Tips on managing effects of hormone changes on seizures? Anyone take Pamprin to help ease cramps, bloating and moodiness?
You are so beautifully correct. We don’t know God’s plan. No matter how difficult it is He knew we could do it. I’ve been told God will never put more on our back than we can carry. We can do it… read more
Does Anyone On Here Suffer From Tardive Dyskinesia?
I’ve had weird uncontrollable movements for months that don’t show on my EEG. My seizures still happen often luckily they’re usually partials. But the spasms scare me, i’m always snapping my fingers without realizing and other weird things. So i was just curious if anyone suffered from this and had any knowledge on it because i may bring it up to my doctor. Nothing is being solved
I was on three medications, My Epileptologist recognized right away and gave me a cardiac medication at a low dosage. It stopped it. I was very happy but my husband was happier, too!
Does Anyone Else Find That You Can’t Sleep For More Than 2 Or 3 Hours At Night But Can Nap For Hours During The Day?
I think it’s part of why I am so exhausted. I don’t find time to nap often because I give myself so many chores to do so I feel like I add value to my sister and brother in law’s home. I know I have issues. 😞
Good luck and prayers sent 🙏
Technology, Moving Emojis, Gifs, Attachments And Seizures
Do any of these moving emojis, gifs or attachments give you seizures or seizure activity, or disturb your brain? What do you do if so? Avoiding technology seems like not a great option.
Yes it does trigger. Flashy lights. Camera shutterbugs. Any kind of persistence of vision at a rapid pace does trigger.
Do You Have A YouTube Channel/account, Pod Casts, Etc. To Teach Others About Epilepsy And Everything To Do With It?
It would be very useful for not just friends on this site but also so that we can share the links to these (for those of you who are willing and ready) with others who have not yet even found the MyEpilepsyTeam site so they can learn about the subjects that you are sharing in each recording.
These can be shared with the Epilepsy Foundation (and its equivalent sites in other nations) and through them possibly with other sites such that we can get the information out to as many people with… read more

Has Anyone Here Had The ECoG EEG?
I am set to have the ECoG Intracranial EEG(the grid on the surface of the brain), I have had the Depth Electrodes once. With my limited research it sounds that the depth electrodes were significantly easier... Just curious if someone could shine some light on what that whole process looks like and what I have to look forward too.
