Vagal Nerve Stimulation
At the moment I'm working with Oxford about having a Vagal Nerve Stimulation, which I'm not sure if I can have yet. However it is the most likely option for any progress concerning my Epilepsy. My question is this - has anyone on here had this operation and has it helped you in any way? Thanks all.
The VNS has wires that are connects to the Vagus Nerve . When the electric pulse hits the Vagus nerve it travels to the other nerves located within the brain. There 12 nerves in the brain . 6 nerves on each sphere.
Itβs not just one area of the brain that the VNS work.in.
You have to know where the seizures originate from. It can only work if it's located in one area.
Sometimes It Seems Like They Are NOT Doing ENOUGH To Come Up With A Cure For This, It (To Me ANYWAY) Seems Like Medical Science Puts Epilepsy On The BACK BURNER Kind Of Like OH It's NOT THAT IMPORTANT And F**K Y** To Anyone Who Shakes Of Trembles In ANY WAY Because We Have MORE IMPORTANT Medical Issues To Deal With FIRST.....At Least That's What It Seems Like TO ME Because I HAVEN'T SEEN A MAJOR CHANGE In ANY Of This Stuff SINCE 1972
I just had my first one replaced because of the battery. But it has helped greatly
Does anyone know if this would help my daughter? She had brain surgery as an infant and we know her seizures are originating from that one place.
