My hair is pretty much shaved and you can’t see or tell where the RNS is. I can barely feel with my fingers where the RNS is. I went to a ball game a couple weeks ago where everyone had to walk through a metal detector. I showed the officers my ID saying I have metal in my head so he patted me down and I was allowed to walk around the metal detector.

I do have an RNS in my skull. I can’t hardly tell it’s there. They had to take a small chunk out of my skull to place the RNS and they put a metal plate over it.
It will record brain activity throughout the day. When I have a seizure someone touches my head, where the RNS is, with a magnet and that marks the spot for the doctors to see where a seizure occurred. They still find the seizures if I didn’t have a magnet on hand. Every night, before I go to bed, I turn on a lap top and place a wand on my head where the RNS is located and it downloads any seizure activity. When it’s done I hit send and all the information is sent to the doctors. When I go see the doctors they look at their computer and can see everywhere I had a seizure and everywhere I touched my head with a magnet. They can even turn the amps up or down if you continue having seizures. To do that they just put their wand on my head and do some adjusting on their computer.

Hi JeremyLanders, how have you been? I have not had any of that placed in my brain. I had a temporal lobectomy’s operation 20yrs ago & had a major stroke down my right!
