Memory Or Speech Therapy

Hi, everyone it's been a while, just stay busy doing something. I wanted to see if anyone Neurologist ever offer them speech therapy or memory. I knew when my memory doctor follow up back in 2023 she requested my neurologist to get me a memory coach and speech coach also psychiatrist. After my brain surgery, they offered me speech therapy to bring back the sending of signals and the speaking. Now, I am not very quiet at all. As the Chaplin at my first college said, "I just can't see it, Melissa. You are never quiet! You speak up all the time for change!" I speak up for all of us all the time, and there is no stopping me now! I am now over ten years seizure-free!

Memory and speech therapy can be very beneficial for some people with epilepsy. Studies have shown that memory training programs and working with speech therapists or occupational therapists to learn memory strategies can help improve recall and manage the effects of epilepsy on cognition. Memory and speech therapy can be very beneficial for some people with epilepsy. Studies have shown that memory training programs and working with speech therapists or occupational therapists to learn memory strategies can help improve recall and manage the effects of epilepsy on cognition. It's great that your memory doctor recommended getting set up with a memory coach and speech therapy. Bringing those recommendations to your neurologist at your next appointment is a good idea. Explain how you think working on memory and speech could help you manage the effects of your seizures.

Speech and Memory has helped me a lot! I wish I had it prior to surgery! I learn little things on how to remember names! It was fun! Memory or fog for me is either from medication or sz’s. I wish you the best!

I agree with you and your post and the other people's posts here, I think I have a slight bit of that happening but haven't been diagnosed with, I have a ok mem as far as I am concerned with what the cause of it is, my epilepsy, as for speech I have a slight bit of a prob with pronunciation with a few words I come across, but I think it gets better with practice I do with my daily routine of prayer and bible study I believe in and do, my opinion

When I was in elementary school, I had a speech teacher . Other than that , I’ve never had any specialists to help Improve my memory and speech this present day . But I have done the Neuro Psych Tests , to see where I am with my memory and cognitive abilities.
