When You Were Told That Medication To Assist You, Did You Choose Surgery Or Alternative Solutions? How Well Did It Work For You?

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭
Lakeville, MA

I have heard in the past from several friends who have tried many others including surgery, implants or non-medication alternative methods. However, I think it would help if those of you who have to share your experience with those are now at the point where they have been told that medication will never allow them to reach a long-term seizure free state.

If Q + A section was better organized, then I would not have to ask this question, but we have a support site, so we have to do what we can… read more

Tremor

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭
Cypress, TX

So, this is just weird. Has anyone been shaky just in one hand? My right hand is shaking out of control, while my left hand is steady like a brick.

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member

Now my Neurologist says mine is not a neuropathy, but what is called an Essential Tremor. It’s not unique to epileptics, but we commonly get one. It often involves one limb or a combination of regions… read more

Is Anyone Else Having The Same Problem Of Not Being Able To See All Of The New Messages?

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭
Lakeville, MA

I am still told how many new messages there are each day, but I only have access in the list of a portion of those new messages. For example, right now it indicates that I have 11 more notifications, but there are not any in the new messages box for me to click on. This started a few weeks ago. And I have already contacted the managers of the site (and I was not the first to tell them) and their techs are working on the problem.

It is a challenge, living with Epilepsy. We may control our lives, but epilepsy likes to throw obstacles in our way. We have to decide how we’re getting around the obstacles or if it even possible
