Klonopin

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭
Arlington, TX

I’m sooooo sleepy and in a brain fog since taking Klonopin in addition to my Lamictal and Trileptal.
How long does it take for these side effects to go away. I feel like I’m walking through jello.

Oh, and by the way, since that time, I saw a new neurologist for spikes and waves on an ambulatory EEG I took a few months ago. About a week ago, I was prescribed Clobazam, Onfri. So, there is that.

Epilepsy Portrayed In Tv And Film

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭
Newcastle upon Tyne, UK

Apologies if this has already been asked. But does anyone get upset about how people with epilepsy are portrayed in tv programmes and films. I watched something (not going to name) and found it a bit upsetting. I know it has to be shown in the media but it needs to be accurate and the help should be shown. It should be shown that having epilepsy is not all bad news.

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member that's terrible and you're right they do need special training.

Does Anyone Else Not Seem To Be Affected By Alcohol?

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭
Calgary, AB

I've had juvenile myoclonoic epilepsy for about 4 years now and have only had 2 grand mal seizures. I take 200 mg of lamotrigine daily, but was previously on 1250 mg of valproic acid. When I was first diagnosed, my neurologist said she'd only recommend having 2 drinks max. I'm in university right now and the temptation to drink is very high. I have been getting pretty drunk going out partying, including nights where i have about 13 drinks (I'm 200 lbs). I have been fine in the morning… read more

Before my brain surgery if I drank more than once a week, it would dilute my medicine and I would begin having auras if not seizures
But if I were to hit a joint, I will have a seizure within a few… read more

What Symptoms Can People Have When They Are Not Having A Seizure?

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭
East Montpelier, VT

I always seem to have some sort of headache all the time. Sometimes its barely there. I also have trouble pronouncing words sometimes and just feel like im not really there in the moment. Its creepy. Its like im dissociating. When im explaining something to somebody i also sometimes forget what i was talking about and zone out for a couple seconds, then i cant seem to remember what i was talking about. It also happens when other people are talking to me. Its like i cant comprehend what they are… read more

Does anybody feel overwhelmined by epilepsy and outsiders NOT aweare of so many different types of seizures

I am puzzled that some doctors don't even understand the different types. I've had to explain to a few what partial complex seizures were, and what I felt with them. They were generally doctors that… read more

Has Anyone Heard Of A New AED Med Called Epidiolex.

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭
Hewitt, MN

The FDA is suppose to be approving this new medication. From what I read there is suppose to be cannabis in this. Is that true or is it a synthetic version of cannabis. If anyone has an appt, maybe bring it up and get some info off it. I would like to know more about this. I’ll even try and remember when I have my next appt. Thank you

Purpose Of This Forum

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭
Newcastle upon Tyne, UK

Epilepsy and its associated problems is serious and needs each sufferer to support one another. So what do people want from this site? advice, guidance, someone to share your thoughts with, a shoulder to cry on. In my opinion it is certainly not a dating site!

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member

I like the Q&A section best as it lets me see that m,any of the things I have experienced are not just me and has given me peace of mind and hopefully my replies can help others feel similar relief.

Absence Seizures Actually True Grand Mal Seizures?

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭
Rolla, MO

My son was recently diagnosed with Absence Seizures in which hid neurologist called them the true form of Grand Mal seizures that are hereditary. She said they usually start out as the small absence seizure of stare offs and eye fluttering, absence of awareness or unaware of anything happening during the spell. She explained to me that all people diagnosed with acute absence seizures will eventually endure full on grand Mal seizures with convulsions. Has anyone in the group been diagnosed… read more

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member

Grand Mal and Absence are two different types of seizures.

For some people they have an aura / absence seizure that alerts them ( warning sign ) that they might go into a bigger seizure. Doesn’t… read more
