A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭
Tyngsboro, MA

How do you guys handle your side effects for your medication if it makes you drowsy/ just not yourself. Lately I feel like I'm just not on top of things. I take vitamins my neurologist told me to take and tthey work pretty good. Is there any otc medications or certain vitamins or anything at all that help you guys with your side effects?

Who Doesnt Feel Like They Are In There Anymore Since Taking Meds?

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭
Laughlin, NV

This question is for everyone- Does anyone feel like their meds have taken away their personality and feel like a zombie with no zest for life anymore? I used to be able to concentrate on things and since increasing meds, being on meds for so. long, adding another med, maybe just having epilepsy in general- I feel like I am being dumbed down. Like I can't concentrate on anything anymore. Can't start a conversation- can't pay attention to people - like I'm a zombie or a robot and only do the… read more

I do sometimes ya. Cant remember things, even if they happened within the past 2 minutes. I sit around a lot, space out, it sucks. Especially when others get mad because they don't understand

Does Anyone Else Suffer From Anxiety?

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭
Hinckley, UK

Since being diagnosed with epilepsy I have developed anxiety. Some days I can't even leave the house and it makes me feel horrible. I'm a totally different person now and I find it hard to talk to people. I have to force myself to go out for my daughters sake, but feel so drained afterwards that it can take a full day to recharge my batteries. I don't really have any friends as the ones I did have kind of abandoned me when I didn't leave the house for a few years. I'm scared to go to the doctors… read more

Afraid Of Happiness?

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭
California, CA

I'm in a good spot right now. The best that I've had since seizure #1 which was 3 years ago. And I'm grateful for that.

But I'm not living in the present. I'm living in fear of what tomorrow might bring. The crash will come - it's the nature of this illness. Maybe next week. Maybe next month or next year. The meds will poop out. I'll have another seizure.

Because I know it must come to an end, I don't trust this good spot that im in. I'm afraid to relax and enjoy myself. I'm afraid of… read more
