As a child, I took Phenobarbital at night, and Tridione in the daytime. Anyone else heard of this? My new Dr.'s give me funny looks, but I know what I was taking. I was 17 when I stopped taking it.

Just Started Zonisamide.

I just started taking zonisamide yesterday. It is in addition to phenobarbital and lamotrigine. If you have had experience with zonisamide, please let me know, especially if it is a secondary or tertiary medication. I am also interested in side effects.

Medication Side Effects And Dealing With Them

Does anyone else take lamictal get feitiegue but you have to take it multiple times a day and at night. Do you guys have suggestions obviously other than taking a nap to deal with it at work?

I've learned to take it REALLY early in the morning so I can go back to sleep and have enough before I get up for the day.

Addition Of Medication Phenobarbital, Has It Helped?

I had a intracranial EEG April 15th. Within 2 days they noticed 2 times the number of seizures, often in my sleep, than I was noting. April 20th I had a brain ressection in my right frontal lobe. I was doing great until I came off the hydromorphone and steroids. As well they changed me from Dilantin to Vimpat. I also take 2mg of clonazepam a day and am allowed 1mg of Ativan per week, the remainder of the time I go to the ER. An average of 2 times a week.

Been on phenobarbital for 8 years or so. Was also on it from 3 to 12 years old. Works better than any other seizure med has for me.

Have Any Of You Been On Phenobarbital Long Term For Your Treatment And Developed A Blood Disorder And/or Bad GI Issues?

I had to get off of it. My Neurologist put me on Tegretol, and I've been on it ever since. I also take Keppra.

I have recently been weaned off Zonisamide due to side effects. The Zonisamide is not going to be replaced by another AED. I am on phenobarbital and LamotragineER. I am just a little bit nervous about not having another medication added back to the mix. How many meds are you on and do you have problems when one of the medications is stopped?
