I applied for a job a few weeks ago and I've got lots of experience in this particular area but there were people who applied with no experience and who applied later than I did and received the job. The only thing they have that I don't, is the fact they're not epileptic. Anyone else ever been on the receiving end of something like this?

My son is 7 years old and he does not want to sleep by himself or with a sibling. He wants to sleep with my husband and I all the time. I am wondering is this normal or does it have to do with the epilepsy in some way or form. He says he is scared and just can't sleep on his own. Does anyone else write poems about having seizures? I often use them when I speak to a group about epilepsy as a great icebreaker. Sometimes people find talking about their epilepsy on front of large groups rather daunting and can often trigger a seizure - that used to happen to me even in front of small groups but once I brought humour into my presentations it totally changed my mindset and put people at ease. Does any1 get fed up of explaining yourself to outsiders?

What causes (has anyone had) a mild headache that has turned into a migraine that has turned into a seizure? Have you seen this pattern and been able to avoid the seizure?

I have right temporal lobe (lesions on the right side)epilepsy and I'm currently on Vimpat. Anybody out there have vivid or weird dreams? Some of mine are extremely life like and some are weird enough that I probably would tell them to anybody. Some of them stick in my memory even when I wish they wouldn't.

Has anyone had a seizure with their pet dog in the room?
I had a seizure today and before I even knew it was coming on, my pet dog came and sat next to me and did not move.

Does anyone experience dizzy spells? The past few days I have been incredibly dizzy, short intense spells lasting only seconds, numerous times a day.

I know a lot of you have children with epilepsy which I know you look after well but my comment is this - speaking as an adult with epilepsy sometimes I don't want to be treated as a child. I know our partners and family just want to care but as the saying goes - we can't be wrapped up in cotton wool!

Ever since I got sick and got diagnosed with epilepsy, I've become a neat freak and a perfectionist. My handwriting is what I obsess over the most. I am incredibly picky when it comes to my handwriting and worry and stress over it much more than I should. For some reason, when I write a word, sentence or letter and don't like how it looks, I feel the need to erase it and rewrite it. I don't know why.
