Does Loud Noices Or Music Make Any Of You Have Sezuires And High Aniexty?

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭
Charlotte, NC

Hello everyone, I was just wondering do any of you have sezuires from loud music in a closed area like my self. Also do you have high anxiety from noice that is unusually louder than usual. I recntly in the last couple of years picked up on this. When someone yells at me in anger sezuires happen no doubt. I ran off one time and hit my head on the wall during a complex partial and dont remember anything. Just woke up with a knot on my head and a bad headache. Can any of you relate?

Oh, and smells—fake smells such as perfume, or candles … we were near the Yankee Candle factory so people came in stinking like fake smells, or gave us candles as gifts.

How Do You Combat Dizziness?

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭
Saint Louis, MO

Well! I go from sit to stand s-l-o-w-l-y. First! I scoot to the edge of my chair. Second! I place my hands to help boost me. Third! I stand, slowly. Fourth! I don’t walk until it feels right. How do I know if it feels right? I know that when I feel it. It helps me to sit for awhile before standing rather than try to fly out of bed.

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member

I wish some understood this. Sometimes its frustrating to get my eyes to even see correctly. I call it disassociated momentarily but that isn't correct. So dizziness is same feeling as this out of… read more

Has Your Neurologist Proven That Your Lost Memories Are Lost For Good?

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭
Lakeville, MA

If not, then I need to share with you what GOD has shared with me: I don't have any lost memories. Rather, it is just the challenge to access them by the hampering of memory recall caused by Epilepsy itself (even if you are on no medications and have not had a seizure in decades) in addition to the natural degrading of memory recall for most human beings (more so for Epileptics) and then the side effect of brain damage (to memory recall, NOT memories in storage, which is the case for all of us… read more

What If...?

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭
Lakeville, MA

Do you ask yourself this question? For example, what if I never developed Epilepsy? Or in my case, what if I had been diagnosed with Epilepsy in 1980 rather than in 1997 (and thus have 17 years of brain damage as a result)? As some friends told me here years ago, and God recently inspired me to ponder, there would have been a lot of changes in my life if I was diagnosed in 1980. And one of the possibilities would have been that I would have died from a brain surgery performed 43 years ago… read more

Newcastle upon Tyne, UK

These are the kinds of things that cause my seizures, how common are they with everyone else? I'd like to know what triggers your seizures:

- Time spent on electronic devices
- Medication not taken on time
- Not enough sleep or rest
- Going to bed late
- Not drinking plenty water
- Not eating healthy
- Getting to hot
- Reading to much
- Showering late at night
- Dust on clothes or in the house
- Infections like cold or flu
- Certain foods
- Bright or flickering lights
- Stress

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member

Most my seizures that I have I don't know of. If do notice them it's lack sleep causes me seizures easy, If I have others the only way I notice things moved which is also rare.
