Different Seizures

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭
Southampton, UK

I had a seizure this morning, I was brushing my teeth and I started to feel weird and I felt my left arm and leg starting to stiffen and twitch. When I came round I was slumped over the bath face down on the bottom of the bath. I always sit on my toilet with lid down to brush my teeth. What sort of seizure would I have had? Everytime I have a seizure I'm just still so confused as to what's happened. I feel like crying as I feel so stupid that I still don't fully understand it.

How To Tell If My Medication Is What Is Waking Me Up

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭
Grosse Pointe Park, MI

So for the past few months, I've been waking up around 3 AM or 5 AM and I just can't fall back asleep, I don't know what to do. I've tried almost everything I've taken sleep studies. I've tried mouth guards. I've tried melatonin, and I'm not entirely sure at this point. So I'm pretty sure it's probably my epilepsy. Medication, that's keeping me awake.
I'm currently on zonegran and trileptal.

My Doc Says As My EEG Was Clear Of All Activity, I Might Not Have Epilepsy?

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭
Looe, UK

I have recently moved from Cornwall to Manchester. In doing so, I have changed neurologist. He asked me to do a fresh mri and eeg so he could se for himself what was going on. The mri came back clear, as did the eeg? Now whilst this should be great news, my Doc is saying I may not actually have epilepsy at all. Also sounds like good news. However, firstly, he thinks the symptoms I have, could be due to mental illness
I asked him to explain the previous 2 eeg's which showed massive amounts of… read more

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member They most likely don't mention the epilepsy because it's already confirmed that you have it. The eeg's you have now are basically apart of ongoing testing.

What Kind Of Activities Are You Involved In That Is Not Part Of An Epilepsy Support Groups? That Are Not Hobbies You Just Do By Yourself.

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭
Minneapolis, MN

I can't volunteer since it is $70 ride each shift. I can't join a Board because they require an annual contribution and I need the funds for my new meds. I can't work at an open house any more since they don't have a weekend transportation system. I can't get to a farmers market since the hours are during rush hour and the transportation system prioritizes work and medical appointments (makes sense). I can't get a PT job since the transportation system is so unreliable. (I just had a blood… read more
