If You Have Replaced Tegretol, Which Other Drug Took Its Place?
Following my neurofeedback sessions I was able to reduce my seizures significantly. And the seizures I continue to have almost always occur when I am asleep. It would seem as though I can control my brain activity much better when awake.
Thanks, Meredith! Regards, Jake
Carbatrol
I've been put up to 1200 mg per day of tegretol retard. This is the maximum dose and seems very high - has anyone else been on such a high dose and did you suffer any side effects?
Do You Know What Would Be A Good Substitute For Tegretol?
Like any drug ..seizure, cancer, etc. “hopefully it works as long as it can until it it doesn’t . And you start again”. (My wife has beaten ovarian cancer 4x)
Has Anyone Become Immune To Tegretol Or With Their Medication?
I have been on Tegretol for 17 years since 2003 a year after my diagnosis with epilepsy, I've noticed over the years that I've had more side effects and seizures than I once did when I first was put on it, my doctors have never changed it. Has anyone else experienced that? Thanks in advance :)
I been on Brand Tegretol and Brand Lamictol and since been 25 yrs sz free
High Tegretol Levels
What has been the course of action your doctor has taken if your tegretol levels are high but it’s controlling your seizures? Afraid what my Dr will tell me since tegretol is all I have ever taken and I am not mentally or emotionally ready to try a new drug.
I was on tegretol for a few years but went to a cocktail as I was causing cognitive issues & made me dizzy. So MD cut dosage & supplemented w/ Phenytoin. Which held me,
Tegretol And Memory Loss
Hi all. To those using Tegretol. Did your memory worsen after you started to use it? I am on 200mg am and 400mg pm. Thanks.
Dilantin
I took Dilantin for a few years as a child. I'm not sure why my doctor switched me from Dilantin to Tegretol, but I'm assuming it's because I broke through on it. I really liked it, but I suppose what I'm on now is best for controlling my seizures.

I have had my medications changed so many times. When I first start taking a new medication I’ll make it longer without a seizure but then they all return
Tegretol/Carbamezapine
Hey everyone
I've been on tegretol/carbamezapine in various doses since I was about 15. I am now 27
I've been starting to think more about side effects, dependency and whatnot as I get older. Does anyone else worry about this? Like what the drugs are doing to your body? I still have seizures roughly once every two weeks, maximum is usually 4 a month, but I have started looking into alternative treatments as well, like acupuncture and the keto diet. My neurologist mentioned to me that if I… read more

Pregnancy And Medication. What's Your Story? How Did You Make Your Decisions On Pregnancy, Medication And Breastfeeding?
If you're a mother, I'd like to know your pregnancy story. Did you decide to have kids? Did you decide not to? What was your thought process when deciding to keep taking or stop taking medication? Did you decide to breastfeed or not?
I'm scared about having a child that develops problems their whole life due to my taking medication. I'll blame myself if that happens.
Im still on tegratol and now on a higher dose..still breastfeeding i got my doctors approval..
